Dr Antje (Angie) Vogelsang–Sharman is a highly experienced General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care with a strong emphasis on continuity, preventative health, and long-term relationships.
Originally trained in Germany, Dr Sharman completed her medical degree at the University of Hamburg before relocating to Tasmania in 2003. She has since practised in Australia for over two decades and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
Dr Sharman has extensive experience across the full breadth of general practice, with particular interests in family medicine, women’s and men’s health, mental health, and chronic disease management. She is known for her thorough, thoughtful, and methodical approach, and for her ability to manage complex and long-standing health issues with care and precision.
Over many years in practice, she has developed strong, enduring relationships with her patients, often caring for individuals and families across generations. Her practice reflects a deep commitment to continuity of care, with a focus on understanding each patient’s history, circumstances, and long-term health goals.
Dr Sharman is also highly experienced in teaching and mentoring, having supported the training of medical students and GP registrars over many years. She is committed to maintaining high standards within general practice and contributing to the development of future clinicians.
She practises in a way that prioritises time, continuity, and thoughtful, relationship-based care, and is widely regarded for her calm, considered approach and attention to detail.
Dr Sharman speaks both English and German and has patients from a wide variety of diverse backgrounds.
Outside of medicine, she enjoys time with family and the natural beauty of Tasmania.
